Early Childhood and Family Education (ECFE) is a program available to all Minnesota families with children between the ages of birth and kindergarten enrollment. It recognizes that families provide children’s first and most important learning environments and parents are their children’s first and most significant teachers. It is the mission of ECFE to strengthen families and support the ability of all parents to provide the best possible environment for the healthy growth and development of their children. ECFE programs include the following components for children and parents.

This committee provides assistance in program planning and evaluation, resource development, community relations, and a volunteer source for the program. Licensed Parent Educators and Early Childhood teachers provide planned activities for the children. The programs work closely with education and health and human service agencies to assist parents and children in obtaining other needed services.
